All of us dream of improving our life status and live a comfortable life. We all dream of life in a comfortable house, achieve our dreams and spend the rest of our lives with our loved ones. Some of us would want to travel the world and explore high places. Others would rather help our fellow men to uplift their lives. Whatever it is, we all dream of improving our lives and making an impact in the world.

However, with all the struggles, challenges, and trials we face in life, we feel like we’re not doing enough. We get frustrated over the fact that we could’ve been a better version of ourselves. No matter what we do, we feel like we’re not getting any closer to achieving our dreams. This laves us frustrated and unsatisfied with our live.

But before you wallow in self-pity, you might want to reassess your life first. The truth is, you’re already living a beautiful life right now. You just haven’t realized it because you’re so busy trying to achieve various milestones that you tend to forget the things you already have.

“Life is so much better when we dwell on awe-inspired thoughts.”
― Lailah Gifty Akita.

To help you appreciate life more and be more contented with what you have, here are the 4 signs that you’re doing better in life than you think:

You’re living in a decent house

First and foremost, you can say that you’re doing well in your life if you have a comfortable house to live in. It may not necessary be your dream house, but at least you’re living under a decent roof. Your home can protect you from harsh weather such as scorching sun and freezing cold.

Unlike the homeless people on the streets who struggle to find a place just to go through the day, be thankful. You have to realize that you’re lucky enough to stick to one place. These homeless people just wander on the streets, begging for food, clothes, and shelter which you all have.

You have a Job

The fact that you’re working and earning right now proves that you’re luckier than most people. There are millions of jobless people out there. They still struggle to get a each day that passes. Unlike you,  they’re worried about where to get money to pay bills, buy foods, and pay rent. These people toss in bed every night because they’re sleepless wondering how they can sustain life.

Remember that the job you have right now has saved you from all these problems. You don’t need to worry about the things mentioned above. The salary you earn helps you in buying mosst, if not all, of the things you want.

You Have Appropriate Education

degreeThe fact that you’re working right now only proves that you possess the skills and ability to be the right candidate for your job. Perhaps you’re a graduate. This only means that you’ve had good education.

Remeber that to some people, education is a luxury that they cannot afford. Some can’t even read or write. And if they can’t even do these basic things, how do you expect them to excel in work? How do you expect them to get hired by an employer? To them, the  future is definitely darker than yours.

You have the ability to dream and become a better version of yourself

When you have a dream or ambition to achieve, it only proves that you’re doing well in life. Why? It’s because you want to soar higher. You want to improve yourself. You don’t want to get stuck in your current situation. The homeless people, on the other hand, don’t have the saame dreams as you because they’re dreaming to achieving the things that you’ve already achieved. Therefore, you’re luckier than you originally thought!

“Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.”

Dreaming of a better life is normal. However, you must not forget that there are people behind you as well. So if you ever feel like you’re not doing well enough, simply look back and see how far you’ve gone.
