Law school is known for making law students read almost every single book in the library that has something to do with the law. Assigned readings will most likely be given every single week, but it is important for a student to do their own advanced readings as well even if their professors didn’t ask them to.
There is just nothing wrong with added information as long as you make sure that it is absolutely valuable. However, one of the most common mistakes students make is that they simply read, but they sometimes forget that they need to understand and remember everything. Reading combined with studying is something that you need to do to survive Law School.
BE CONFIDENT
If you’re the type of person who is quiet and shy, well, that is something that you seriously need to work on. Lawyers are known to be outspoken and always proving their point especially if they know they are right. As a law student, you must practice that while you’re in class. Find your inner confidence, participate in class and be active in recitations. Being able to speak up and share your thoughts and opinions is a great way to start. After all, lawyers are known to be great public speakers.
STAY FOCUSED AND STRONG
As a law student, if you’re sensitive and emotionally fragile, you’ll definitely have a problem. You must learn how to toughen up because law school isn’t a place for people who are sensitive. You have to find your inner strength and focus on that to be able to achieve your goal.
Most law professors are ruthless, they yell at students, they make them cry, but it is not something that they do for fun. It is sometimes done for students to learn to be strong because once they graduate and be a lawyer in the real world, it will be ten times tougher.
DON’T FORGET TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
It is a fact that you must study extremely hard to be able to survive in law school, but keep in mind that you have to take care of yourself and stay healthy. It will also help your mind function better.
